1. Stop Making Excuses
Excuses are a complete waste of time! Always focus on solutions. Excuses make you sound childish, irresponsible, and unreliable. If you're in a work setting or home no one wants to hear excuses for why you didn't deliver they only want to know how and when you will rectify the issue at hand. For example, your kids don't want to know why dinner isn't ready they want to know when it will be ready and what's for dessert! I learned a quote in middle school that has stuck with me into adulthood. "Excuses are tools of the weak to build monuments of nothingness" I hope this is food for thought the next time you make an excuse for why you aren't achieving your goals.
2. Surround Yourself With Like-Minded People
I know you've heard the saying " Birds of a feather flock together" or " You are the sum of the 5 people you hang around most". Simply put if you want to be a millionaire or a boss you have to surround yourself with bosses and millionaires. Don't know any??? No problem, they are all over social media! Follow them, interact with them, and purchase their products and services. I promise you will learn a thing or two!
3. Change Your Mindset
One of my new favorite sayings is " Whether you believe you can or you can't either way you're right" I was recently watching this show on Netflix called "Strong" and it was basically a weight loss competition that awarded the trainer and trainee with the most competition wins with money. There was one competitor who constantly complained about her home life, her body, and the exercises. She constantly proclaimed "it's too hard" and "I can't". You better believe she didn't and was quickly voted off the show.
4. Educate Yourself
There are millions of ways to keep growing ad expanding your knowledge. Your brain is a muscle and if you don't exercise it, it will become weak and not worth much. Read books, take online courses, watch video tutorials, or listen to podcasts. Knowledge is power.
5. Network/ Meet New People
Some people say your network equals your net worth. Let's break that down a little more.. your network is exposure to new opportunities, different perspectives, and new experiences. It's important to evolve in life and if you don't expose yourself to new people and experiences your life will become a broken record playing the same verse over and over. It's up to you to get tired of the same things on a different day.
